2017 Initiative

Connecting. Caring.’s 2017 initiative focused on the military. Over 200 employees from the Firm’s Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York offices gathered in September to assemble more than 40 care packages supporting the efforts of Blue Star Mothers of America Inc.

Following Hurricane Irma, the Firm’s Miami office held a separate event in November.

In addition to participating in community events, Oppenheimer’s Private Client Division offices competed in a Top Three Branch Manager Challenge, in which individual branches raised money for military charities of their choice. The charities included Fisher House Foundation, The Seattle Stand Down, and Lead the Way Fund, among others.

The Firm also continued its highly successful wellness program, which energizes and connects the entire Firm with fitness trackers. This year, in recognition of employees surpassing 150 million steps, Oppenheimer donated to the Marine Toys for Tots program, which collects new and unwrapped toys to distribute to children in need.
