Program overview
Oppenheimer is no longer accepting applications for 2024 Summer Internships or 2025 Investment Banking Summer Internships.
2025 Business Segments and Corporate Infrastructure applications will open later this year.
The summer internship program at Oppenheimer gives participants a unique opportunity to learn about the financial services industry by working side by side with seasoned experts. Our interns gain hands-on leadership experience while learning about the different business channels within the Firm.
Oppenheimer’s eight to ten week summer internship is designed to fully immerse bright, motivated students in the day-to-day activities of one of our departments. The program includes ongoing information sessions where you’ll learn about our Firm culture and history, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of Oppenheimer. You will also receive department-specific training designed to help you succeed in your role.
Oppenheimer internships are real jobs with real impact. As an intern, you will receive actual responsibilities that come with the same expectations as a full-time employee. Additionally, this experience will give you the chance to work alongside our industry leaders.

About the application
Please note there are two separate internship applications: (1) Business Segments and Corporate Infrastructure and (2) Investment Banking. Additional detail for each of these applications can be found below. For Business Segments and Corporate Infrastructure application, you will be required to indicate two areas of interest within these groups.
To apply for a Summer Internship position in Business Segments and Corporate Infrastructure, candidates are currently pursuing a college or university degree and are entering their junior or senior year. We are looking for students with an outstanding record of academic achievement of a 3.3 GPA or higher and an interest in the financial services industry.
2025 Summer Internship Applications
Equities
The Equities group is charged with meeting expectations of our corporate and institutional clients. Interns with this team will participate in research, sales and trading and various processes for the markets Oppenheimer serves.
Fixed Income (Sales and Trading)
The Fixed Income group creates exceptional value for our corporate, municipal and institutional clients. Interns here will help the team reach their goal to be a premier research, trading and capital solutions organization for the markets we serve.
Wealth Management (Asset Management)
The Asset Management group focuses on helping Financial Advisors and their clients choose from a selection of advisory programs. As part of the group, you will learn about the due diligence process and what goes into choosing the proper investment vehicles for clients.
Wealth Management (Private Client)
To empower Financial Advisors to expand their practices and provide outstanding service to their clients, the Private Client Division will continue to develop advanced tools and experiential training programs.

Compliance
The Compliance department leads our Firm-wide compliance effort by formulating and implementing policies to manage the Firm’s regulatory and reputational risk. Interns working in Compliance will be immersed in daily regulatory and monitoring activities.
Corporate Marketing
The Marketing team is charged with the branding, marketing, promotion of the core values of the Firm and its principal business lines. Interns will help the team support and enhance the revenue producing activities of the Firm with clear messaging and proof points using owned, earned, paid and social media.
Finance & Accounting
The Finance & Accounting Group (“F&A”) is responsible for financial, regulatory, and tax reporting for Oppenheimer globally. F&A also handles accounts payable, payroll, human resources and benefits for the Firm. As an intern in F&A, you will have a significant role in contributing to the mission of the group in providing accurate and timely processing. Interns will also be reporting of financial data and information to various constituencies both internally and externally.
Information Technology
From automated trading, managing data, risk analysis and safeguarding information, our commitment to best-in-class technology provides us with a competitive advantage. Interns in this department will be at the center of our business in a dynamic environment that demands innovative, strategic thinking and immediate, realistic solutions.
Institutional Marketing and Event Planning
Oppenheimer’s Corporate Access & Conference team plays a major role in planning company-investor connections including conference summits, non-deal roadshows, field trips, bus tours, site visits and other bespoke events. Interns in this department will aid in facilitating and organizing such events throughout their internship.
Office of General Counsel
The Legal department provides legal advice to the Firm that is critical to maintaining commitments to our clients, regulators, and shareholders and in promoting a culture of compliance. Interns in this area will be at the crossroads of finance and law.*
* The Oppenheimer Legal Internship Program is for students pursuing a J.D.
Operations
Primary functions of the Operations department include the design and management of products, services and processes integral to the Firm. Interns in Operations will help the department execute equity, mutual fund, options and fixed income transactions for clients and registered representatives.

Oppenheimer’s Investment Banking professionals provide strategic advisory services and capital market strategies for emerging growth and mid-sized businesses. Interns will learn the methodology for helping companies address their strategic and financial goals through a variety of market conditions.
The Investment Banking internship program at Oppenheimer is for candidates currently pursuing a college or university degree who are entering their senior year. We are looking for students with an outstanding record of academic achievement of a 3.5 GPA or higher and a strong interest in the financial services industry.
