Exchange Traded Funds

Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are investment company shares that are designed to track an index, yet trade like a single stock. They are structured as either management investment companies or unit investment trusts. Shares are not redeemable with the issuer rather they are traded throughout the day at the current market price. Market prices may differ from Net Asset Value (NAV). Indexing provides diversified exposure to a market or sector, and is generally cost effective and tax efficient. The objective of ETFs is to provide investment results that correspond to the price and yield performance of their respective underlying indexes.

ETFs give you the ability to diversify your portfolio and gain exposure to a broad range of domestic, international and sector indexes. ETFs also tend to offer greater tax benefits because they typically generated fewer capital gains than acitively managed funds due to low portfolio turnover.

Oppenheimer offers access to an array of exchange traded funds that may fit into your overall investment strategy. With ETFs based on broad-market, sectore and international indexes, you have an extensive selection of investment opportunities.

Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks and charges of the ETF carefully before investing.
